Below you will find the relevant contact details, as at November 2011, for access to care files within local authorities in the United Kingdom. These are the people or places you should try first if you want to get access to your file and you were in local authority care.
Please let us know if any of these details are inaccurate or out-of-date. We have deliberately left off names in many cases, as these quickly become obsolete when people change jobs. We have left names on where it is obvious from the email address anyway. We would particularly urge local authorities, if they recognise any inaccuracies, to write to us or email us as soon as possible so that we can correct them.
