The Care Leavers Connected Project is for care leavers of all ages are encouraged to come and connect with others. It is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and is explicitly for care leavers aged 25 and beyond. Terri, Toya and Will who run the project are also care leavers.
We want to celebrate the diversity and strength of those who have navigated life in and after care. While we are all very different people, being in care has given us many common experiences. All of us deserve a good life after care, Care Leavers Connected wants to help ensure that happens.
The Care Leavers Connected Project gives us a way of connecting with others who were in care, to chat about our life experiences, and help each other with any issues that are important to us. We do this through our monthly zoom sessions, face to face gatherings, magazine and our website. We also offer support with day to day enquires, rights and entitlements and access to records support.
