I have found that volunteering with the CLA has not only given me a range of work experience but also enables me to be involved with issues that are personal to me. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and don’t judge you and your appearance or background etc.

I came to the UK to practise English. In the last half year, while I have been volunteering at the CLA, I have had a great chance to learn how an office works in the UK. I have been able to improve my English as well. The staff – Vicky and Victoria – help me a lot to get involved in different kinds of tasks. Through these tasks I have learned about care leavers. So, in my free time I have a flexible volunteering post where I know I am helping people whilst working in a friendly environment.
