MEN Article 14.4.11An article was published by the Manchester Evening News on the 14th April entitled “Blame lies with Absentee parents” in which the journalist, talking about a mother who was in care, says that she was ” a disaster waiting to happen”. She goes on to say that “very few children brought up in care go on to lead happy successful lives” and she puts the blame for this on absentee parents.
The CLA deplores this type of inaccurate and discriminatory journalism. We shall be writing to the newspaper to outline our views and would encourage others to do the same.
