In August Will, Zachari, Victoria and Stephen had planned to set off on the CLA’s second cycle challenge, to raise money for the organization. Unfortunately we have had to postpone the event, until April next year, due to exciting funding and project-based opportunities that have come to our attention.
We thank everyone for the donations received so far and are looking forward to reaching our target of £1,000 over the coming months.
As a reminder – last yesr Victoria, Will and Stephen cycled from Manchester to Holyhead and thanks to people’s support, raised nearly £1,500 for the CLA. This time the team will be going from Norwich to London and will be calling at Great Yarmouth, Colchester, Ipswich and Chelmsford to meet with care leavers along the way. Our aim is to raise £1,000 to support the CLA’s work for care leavers in the UK.
We’d like to meet with as many care leavers as possible along the way. If you would be interested in meeting up, please let us know. We’ll keep you posted about the dates in April for the event and training along the way.
As you can see from the pictures Zachari has been training hard. This is a recent cycle trip from Shipley, West Yorkshire to the CLA office in Manchester, along the Rochdale canal. A very wet and windy day, but sweets kept her going. She’ll be back in Scotland by the middle of August, but as she’s new to Scotland she’s keen to explore more. Any one interested in going out for a bike ride, get in touch!
Sponsor the team at www.justgiving.com/clacycle all donations will be really appreciated and will go towards providing advice to care leavers, supporting our network of care leavers and campaigning for improved services.
