Clare Edge is the CLA’s Young Person’s Project Worker and Deputy Director. Clare started in October 2010 and will be developing young person led projects for care leavers. She will initially set up a national steering group of young people which will guide her work.

Clare will also be developing the CLA’s volunteer strategy to enable care leavers and non-care leavers of all ages to gain transferrable skills and experience as part of the organisation.

Since 2007 she has worked as a Regional Development Worker then National Development Coordinator at A National Voice, a charity run by and for children and young people in and leaving the Care system in England.

She has a particular interest in emotional wellbeing support for young care leavers and is passionate about making the process of gaining independence empowering for care leavers.  Clare is a graduate in Psychology and has several years’ experience working with self-help mental health charities. Clare has also spent time in Care.
