This is where care leavers of all ages can get back in touch with other care leavers that they were in care with as children. Whether you were in foster care, residential care or other kinds of care, you can use this part of our site to re-establish contact, organise reunions or otherwise network with fellow care leavers. We have already had several thousand care leavers join the site and we look forward to many more joining us in the years to come. Others are also welcome to use the site. If you are a relative of a care leaver, or perhaps a former social worker, residential worker, foster carer or friend, you can register yourself and perhaps be contacted by care leavers who may remember you and want to get back in touch. You will be asked to declare whether you are a care leaver, relative, care worker etc. when you join. The site runs similarly to other social networking sites, such as Facebook. You can upload photographs, tell people about yourself, engage in discussions and keep up with news about your former home. Because the Care Leavers' Association is run by care leavers, we understand how important your links to your past are. We hope you enjoy being a member. Do let us know about your experiences of the site, especially if you have any reunions or link up with long-lost friends. Good luck and best wishes, The Care Leavers' Association If you have any problems using the site, or have discovered something that is not working quite as it should, then please email reunited@careleavers.org. This is a brand new site and we're always looking to improve and put things right. We currently have 5917 registered users, 1823 homes and 45 groups in 8 countries. |
