Care Leavers' Association

Mary Clear, long-term member and Treasurer of the CLA won the prestigious Yorkshire Woman of Achievement of Award on 18th May 2007. She received the award as a recognition of all the work she has done on behalf of care leavers.

Mary, a care leaver herself, is the person behind the CareleaversReunited site, which has enjoyed a great deal of success and enabled over 2000 care leavers to reconnect with people from their past. Mary checks the site every night and always tries to send a welcome message to any new care leavers who have registered.

Mary also dedicates a massive amount of her spare time to the CLA and has done so for the past 5 years. She has worked hard, along with other members, to get the charity to where it is today.
